Set to be one Shenzhen’s "Ten Cultural Facilities of the New Era", the new Natural History Museum is the first large-scale comprehensive natural museum in Southern China. Our proposition won the second prize of the competition.
From the city, the museum looks like a park completing the natural panorama. It is an anchor that serves as the interphase between the natural elements surrounding the site and the new built structures that will emerge in the following years. The tectonic plates that form the building keep the marks of its design process: the lines from the original grids result in rifts that are still visible on the building’s volume.
